UX DESIGN COACH / FREE WORKING TOOL
35 minutes · Tell the design story without invented impact.
Use a real project. Read each prompt, capture your answer, then choose one next action. No signup required. Your answers are not submitted or saved by this worksheet. Print or save a PDF before leaving; use your browser’s print command if JavaScript is unavailable.
Name the product, user problem, constraints, team and your specific role. Mark conceptual work clearly.
Separate “I designed” from “our team delivered.” Get permission before publishing employer or client material.
List the research or operational evidence, its date, limitations, and the decision it informed.
Use anonymized evidence. If you did not speak to users, say how the problem was identified and what remains untested.
Choose two plausible approaches. Explain what each helps, its cost or risk, and why one was selected.
A sketch plus a real tradeoff is more informative than a gallery of polished screens.
Write: We chose [change] because [evidence/constraint]. We expected [benefit]. We checked it by [method].
Keep expected benefits separate from measured results. Explain when your view changed.
Record actual observations, baseline, timeframe and measurement method. Note other changes that could affect the result.
No post-launch metrics? Describe what was delivered, what testing showed, and the measurement plan. Do not manufacture percentages.
What remains uncertain? What would you do differently? Name the next test and the lesson that changed your practice.
Build a five-minute story: context, evidence, alternatives, decision, outcome and reflection.
